Introducing Reports: your school at a glance
July 26, 2026 · Abdulkareem H. Ali
Ask any school leader what they want most from their management system and, sooner or later, the answer is the same: "I just want to see our numbers." Attendance this term. Who still owes fees. How Year 9 is really doing. The data has been in Tawaasal all along — today it gets a front door.
Reports is a new area of the Tawaasal app, in the sidebar of every school. And it opens not with a form to fill in, but with your numbers already on screen.
A dashboard that is yours
The landing tab is a personal reports dashboard. Each widget is a small report with its chart on top — collections, attendance, grade distribution, outstanding dues — and the figures appear instantly from the last computation, refreshing quietly behind you. Every widget states how fresh its figures are and warns when they have aged.
Add widgets, dismiss the ones you do not need, restore the defaults any time. A bursar's dashboard ends up looking nothing like a head of year's — as it should. And every widget is computed in your own view of the school: two teachers with different classes never see each other's numbers, by design.
Ten ready-made reports, in plain words
The catalogue is a shelf of questions, not a query builder. Each report says what it answers before you open it:
- Finance — Collection summary (how much was collected, and what is outstanding), Outstanding dues (who owes what, aged by how long it has been due), Payment trends (collections over time).
- Attendance — Attendance summary (present, absent, late, excused at a glance) and Chronic absenteeism (the watch list of students below your threshold).
- Academic — Grade distribution, Class performance, Subject performance.
- Cross-domain insights — Attendance vs outstanding fees, and At-risk students: the shortlist flagged by both low attendance and low grades, so the right conversations start early.
Set the range, press Generate
Every report opens with its settings in plain language. Date ranges offer presets from your own school calendar — This term, Previous term, Academic year to date — thresholds read as the rule they express ("Attendance below 85%"), and dates are interpreted in your school's own time zone, which is now editable in Settings. A report with nothing to configure simply runs.
Fast reports finish in front of you, in place. If you navigate away before a longer one completes, an in-app notification brings you straight back to the result.
A document, not a screen-dump
Results render as a formal document on your school's own letterhead — your logo and colours, which now also appear on every PDF the platform generates. The chart sits on top, the table beneath, and a "Generated for" line states exactly the parameters used, with real names rather than codes.
Beneath every result sits its basis: the time zone, the currency and rounding, and whether refunded or voided transactions are included. If a result is too large to show in full, it says so — never a silent cut. Numbers a school acts on must be honest about themselves.
Send it, share it, schedule it
Any result can be exported to CSV, Excel, PDF or JSON, branded and carrying its provenance. It can be shared with a colleague as a secure link — opened under their own sign-in, and only if their own permissions allow it.
And it can be scheduled: the outstanding-dues report every Monday morning, an attendance summary at the end of each week. What arrives is a link, not an attachment — no school data leaves the platform — and each recipient opens the report in their own scope, delivered on your school's local time.
Only what each person may see
Every run, export, share and scheduled delivery passes three independent checks: what your school's plan includes, what the person's role permits, and which records they may see. A teacher's report covers their classes only — in every total, chart and filter. A guardian sees their own children. The same decision is reached by every route; there is no back door.
One deliberate exception: safeguarding and wellbeing data are excluded from reporting entirely. Those stay within the safeguarding team's own tools, where they belong.
In your pocket
School admins will find the same dashboard in the [Tawaasal mobile app](/en/blog/tawaasal-app-ios-android) — the widgets they arranged on web, read-only and laid out for the phone, with a tap to refresh any figure that has gone stale.
Two levels — and a launch offer
Reporting comes in two levels. Core reporting — the finance, attendance and grade-distribution essentials — is part of every Tawaasal plan.
Advanced Reporting — class and subject performance, and the cross-domain analytics — will in time become a paid module; its pricing is still to be announced. But we are launching it with a simple offer: schools that sign up during 2026 get Advanced Reporting at no extra cost. Reports beyond your entitlement stay visible in the catalogue with what they answer, so you always know exactly what you are unlocking.
Reports is live today. Sign in, look for Reports in the sidebar, and your numbers are already waiting.
